Archway Greenpoint – A Grand House Reimagined at Urban Scale Set within the residential fabric of Brooklyn’s Greenpoint, Archway Greenpoint reinterprets the familiar language of the townhouse and expands it into a contemporary mid-rise form. Conceived through the idea of Townhouse XXL, the project translates the essential elements of a residential house, arched openings, masonry construction, and crafted proportions, into an eight-story building that feels rooted, intimate, and human in scale.
The architecture is defined by a rhythmic sequence of arches that pursue the façade vertically and horizontally, drawing inspiration from classic three-point townhouse arches. These forms are reinforced through arched window mullions that add depth and shadow, giving the façade a sense of solidity and permanence. Limestone brick cladding grounds the building in material authenticity, connecting it to Greenpoint’s historic residential and industrial architecture while presenting a refined, contemporary expression.
Archway Greenpoint comprises 70 residences, ranging from studios to three-bedroom homes. Each residence is designed with clarity and comfort in mind, offering open layouts, abundant natural light, hardwood floors, refined fixtures, and in-unit washer/dryers.
